Bedford Row Dominion Public Building
This project balances respect for history with contemporary interior design. The redesign of seven storeys of office space draws inspiration from the heritage properties original 1930s character while creating a forward-looking workplace. Multiple tenant spaces have been transformed into an adaptable, activity-based environment that supports diverse work styles and encourages collaboration and engagement. Contemporary office systems and technology are thoughtfully integrated with the historic architecture, creating a workplace that is visually cohesive and functionally flexible. Guided by Green Globes, Fitwel, and universal design principles, the project advances sustainability, wellness, and inclusivity. Indigenous art and culture are meaningfully incorporated through prominent artwork, Mi’kmaw names for key spaces, and a commitment to sourcing at least 10% of the furniture from Indigenous-owned suppliers.
